Tea Party offers candidates guide for voters

To the Editor:

The Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots have created and released a Voter's Guide for the August 3rd primary election.

This public service provides ratings for candidates from precinct delegate, county and state office. These ratings are based on questionnaires completed by candidates for these various offices as well as independent research. The questions were based on Tea Party values such as adherence to the constitution, limited government and the free market system. Over the last three months, the Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots has held candidate meetings with many candidates seeking offices at all levels speaking to the community.

The Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots is not 'endorsing' candidates in their Voters Guide, only seeking to provide information to the general public. Our Voter's Guide can be found electronically at Lapeer Tea Party.org and hard copy guides will be distributed at no cost to the public. We are placing informational signs throughout the county to inform the public of the Web site Voter's Guide. Printed Voter's Guides distribution locations will be at the Lapeer Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and at various merchants, libraries, and county offices. Citizens seeking a hard copy can request a Voter's Guide by using the contact us link on the web site or calling Danette Lowery at 810-614-8878 or email Danette at: danette@lapeerteapartypatriots.org.
