Again today (Sun., July 18) we saw a "small town in action!" Several of us received a call that a little girl, 4-years-old, was missing. We didn't need anyone laying out a plan of action or telling us what to do, we came out of our houses to look for the little tyke.
This sort of thing only happens in small towns where people care about their neighbors, even neighbors we've never met, especially the little ones.
I saw people that I have never seen before walking the streets with us looking everywhere. My daughter and grandsons were at our house from Belmont (outside Grand Rapids), and they were searching with us. It couldn't happen in a larger city, they might look around their neighborhood but I don't think they would look for blocks and blocks.
The story fortunately, had a good outcome. The little girl was found but we were so impressed with the system. IT WORKS!
