Donations needed to save Berville fireworks

To the Editor:

The Berville Lions & Lioness Charities Clubs have recently discovered that ACEP will no longer be sponsoring the annual Armada/Berville Fireworks that are scheduled for June 25 at Berville Lions Field.

In an effort to save the fireworks, we have stepped up to take over. No fundraising efforts have been made for this year's event, and we estimate the cost to be near $5,000. We are accepting donations to fund this event. This was a wonderful event and we are asking all who enjoyed it in the past—at the park, from your own backyard or parked on the road—to donate so we can save the fireworks. We all know that once an event stops, it almost never comes back.

All donations will be kept in a separate fund and used for the fireworks only. We are a 501(C)3 and all donations we collect are a charitable donation you can claim on your income tax returns.

If you have a house party, pass around a bucket or do a 50/50 to help keep the event going for future years.

You can drop off or send in your donations to A & B Trucking, 417 North Ave., Berville, MI 48002. Please make checks payable to Berville Lions Charities, Inc. and write 'fireworks' on the memo line. Donation receipts are available.

Sincerely,

—Peggy Wolfe
