Family Literacy Center marks 30 years

To the Editor:

This year the Family Literacy Center celebrates 30 years of service to Lapeer County families. This milestone would not be possible without enthusiastic community volunteers.

We thank State Representative Kevin Daley for recently pursuing a large donation of new books. We give books away at all our programs, at the ThumbWorks! Office in Lapeer and at our office in Mott College in Lapeer. Representative Daley recently cheerfully delivered 45 cases of new books. The books appeal to all age groups.

We seek book donations since we often hear that books are not easily found in the homes of our students. We want to make sure no one leaves us empty-handed. Representative Daley and his staff have helped us meet this mission.

For more information about Family Literacy Center programs, call us at 810-664-2737 or visit our Web site at readlapeer.org
