Ex-mayor not above law

To the Editor:

In late February of 2010, Kwame Kilpatrick was ordered back to court on the counts of bribery. Twenty-five other people will also be charged with taking kickbacks and bribery. Kilpatrick was ordered to pay $180,000 and had not done so in time. I believe that even if Kwame did make the deadline he should still go to jail.

Kilpatrick took millions of dollars, and if any average person did this crime they would be held accountable. Kwame is not above the law. He is as equal as everybody else. With his actions he not only put the city of Detroit in a very bad light but also hurt the city financially.

Sincerely,
