Luge track change too late

To the Editor:

In early February of 2010, Nodar Kumairtashvili was killed while practicing for the luge event at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. As a result, many changes have now been made to protect the athletes who are competing now.

This makes me angry because now they are going to start to make changes to the luge track. That is not right that they wait until someone dies to make all these changes. For instance, they have just now started padding all the poles and raising the walls of the tracks. That is not right.

I think they should have made changes a long time ago, before this accident happened. Then he would still be alive.

Sincerely,
