Grateful for generosity

To the Editor:

We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who donated to our Country Caring and Sharing Winter Coat and Clothing Drive. We were able to collect many coats and bags of winter clothing that helped not only the local people but also 12 shelters and organizations throughout 3 different counties free of charge.

Our deepest gratitude to the following local businesses that agreed to be donation sites and truly care for the people in our communities: Vinckier's Foods Inc. Yale and Wadham stores; Lapeer Family and Urgent Care-Dr. Zielinski's Office; Trombley's Country Market; CSB Bank-Emmett Branch; Edgerton Chiropractic Clinic;

Gleason, Butler, Sharpe VFW Post 5585-Emmett.

Special thanks to: Sue Smith and the VFW— Emmett who supplied a steady stream of winter items from October through January; Mary Maxim Fairy Godmothers who donated many beautiful, warm hand made scarf and hat sets; the woman who donated two car loads of new items for the cause; Leslie Kowalski, Gen Swider and MaryAnn Vermeesch who graciously give of their time and energy to assist in collecting, sorting and delivering all the donated items.

With the uncertainty of our economy, one never knows when circumstances could change for each of us. Thank you to all for your generosity and support given to come to the aid of so many of our brothers, sisters and children in need in our community. You are truly examples of the angels among us.

Sincerely,

—John and Kris Campau
