I just finished reading yesterday's Tri-City Times and especially noticed the story about Daley's response and the Lapeer County Treasurer's opinion of Granholm's State of the State address. I wonder if there was a similar opportunity afforded the Democrats when Engler was devastating the state treasury and leaving for greener pastures with the company that he had steered and $500 million out of the state coffers. Did someone think then as someone did now that a one-sided opinion needed to be published in this paper?
The Democratic party represents at the least 40 percent of the county and yet we sure aren't afforded that much ink or attention in the paper. It seems to me that we have a winner take all arrangement here and I don't care for it.
