I am gratified to see so many conservatives begin to speak out against some of the vitriolic views expressed here by several local writers. I chuckle when I read that either liberals or progressives describe themselves as kind, gentle, inclusive, or compassionate. Based on what I read from these vacuous far left writers, it appears they are filled with anger, envy, and hate. One writer feels happy that he can "dish it out" to conservatives and that they can't take it. In truth, it is the left that can't take it. You give yourself too much credit thinking that we are so weak and devoid of conviction that you can wound us so easily. Frankly you do not matter that much. I look at such rants as so many bug splats on my windshield.
On the upside, the increase in letters from conservatives causes my heart to soar. In recent polls, some 40 percent of our country now identifies themselves as conservative. In just one year, from being called a failed political idea, conservatives no longer shun the sunlight. The results of one election have thrown the seemingly unstoppable march to the left into a disorganized retreat with the left scrambling for cover. In many ways the Tea Parties have made a big impact on the body politic. To continue to ignore them will be a deep mistake by the left. I know more people are reading about our history and learning that what the far left wants has failed in the past and will continue to fail. More folks are stepping up to be heard. This year will be the most pivotal year in generations for the soul of our country. If we are strong and stand up for what our Founders fought and died for there is a chance we will get our country back.
