Conservatives dish it out, but canít take it

To the Editor:

This is in response to Margaret King's letter which was published in the Jan. 20 issue.

I sincerely enjoyed the painful flinch from an admitted "Conservative." It seems 'Repugnants' like to dish it out but can't take it. If my writing comes across as a bit too strident it is in today's Fox fascism style of getting out your message. Consider the rantings of "Conservatives" such as Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and you get the idea.

As for reading the Constitution, I can recall it as part of my curriculum in 9th grade which was in 1954. I have worked since I was 12 and spent four years, three months and 22 days overseas in uniform defending that Constitution. After raising five children to adulthood and filling those years in both management and Teamster union affairs (elected Steward) I feel I have earned the right to express my thoughts in this paper and suggest your condescending response would be more germane if you would read the New Testament, which transcends the US Constitution.

Did you ever read the Dickens' story "A Christmas Carol?" It may be worthwhile to pay attention to the moment when Marley speaks of the "chains forged in life," etc. Sounds like an epiphany for a Republican.
