Help for those in need

To the Editor:

With the economy in such a downward spiral there are many more people that are without proper clothing and heat this winter.

We will be collecting clean, new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, socks and blankets to donate to local shelters January 15-January 25. Winter Clothing Drive boxes will be located at the following collection sites:

•CSB Bank-Emmett Branch

•Edgerton Chiropractic Clinic 7616 S. Brockway Rd., Yale

•Emmett Main Street Diner 3143 Main St. Emmett

•Gleason Bulter, Sharpe •VFW Post 5585-Emmett

•Trombley's Country Market 12015 Bryce Rd., Emmett

•Vinckier's Foods Inc. 115 S. Main St., Yale and their second location at 5275 Lapeer Rd., in Wadhams.

Please take the time to go through your closets and donate so that others might feel the warmth of your generosity and help make a difference in the lives and health of children and adults in our communities.

If you are in need of a coat or winter clothing, you can go to the front door of the Emmett VFW Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 3-8 p.m. at 3128 Main St., Emmett or please call Kris Campau at 810-395-2338, Leslie Kowalski at 810-384-1612 or Mary Ann Vermeesch at 810-304-2170.
