Literacy volunteers sought

To the Editor:

Your New Year's resolution to make a difference can be met by volunteering for a worthy cause.

The Family Literacy Center is looking for volunteer tutors to help children and adults who are working hard to become successful learners. Tutors will receive expert training in January.

To learn more about helping an adult or child improve their literacy skills, attend a volunteer orientation on January 7 at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Almont. Call 810-664-2737 for more information.

The Family Literacy Center and the Lapeer District Library are partners for literacy in Lapeer County. We work together to help Lapeer County families reach important literacy goals. The Family Literacy Center marks 30 years of service to Lapeer County families in 2010. Be a part of our successful program. Call today.
