Congrats for great season, Capac football

To the Editor:

I do not even know where to begin to try and express to Capac High School Varsity Football players just how much enjoyment, nail-biting excitement, and a sense of camaraderie between parents and players that you all have given to us this football season. I along with all the other parents and fans of the Capac Football team are so, so very proud of each and every one of you.

Over this season each of you showed growth, strength, common core values, a desire for achieving the highest level of play that you all were capable of obtaining, both individually and as a team. The outcome of winning 7 games in a row coming out of a deficit, defying those who said Capac didn't stand a chance at beating this team or that team, truly is a measure of that achievement.

No, we (Capac) didn't win the District Title, but you all obtained a goal that you set early on in this football season, and that was "making it to the playoffs." Every one of you, as well as the coaches, gave all of us some very "awesome" football to watch.

It saddens me some that I won't hear the announcer say "that was Morgan on the carry;" "Niemi on the tackle" or "Burgess intercepts and runs it for a touchdown," but it makes me even happier to know that the Capac Varsity Football team will be even stronger next year, because you all have the determination and drive to set the stakes even higher.

I look very forward to watching a great football season next year. To all of you, congratulations and great job team, you are truly a band of brothers.

Also, a huge shout out to Tri-City Times Sports Editor Kevin Kissane for his dedication to covering the local sports teams. We appreciate his efforts so very much.
