The ghosts and goblins have come and gone but the satisfaction of having hosted a successful 14th annual Fantasy Forest lingers on for the members of the Zonta Club of Lapeer Area. This year's event raised more than $7,000 in support of Zonta's local service projects.
Fantasy Forest would not be possible without the generous support of so many in our community. Special thanks go to our 40 booklet advertisers and sponsors, the 30 businesses and organizations that created stations in the Forest with activities and treats for kids, and the dozens of businesses and organizations that help us in other ways including providing equipment, services and parking areas. Our thanks also go to the many young volunteers who help to make the day in the Forest run smoothly. The Young Marines, who see that everyone finds a place to park, and the middle and high school students, who dress in costume to serve as greeters, chalk artists, popcorn scoopers and much more, provide valuable service to their community as they help us throughout the day.
A complete list of these Fantasy Forest contributors can be found at our website, www.zonta.lapeer.org.
Finally, we wish to thank the more than 1,100 trick-or-treaters and their grown-ups who came to play with us in the Fantasy Forest. We hope that you had a great time! Be sure to mark your calendar now so you won't miss out on the 15th Fantasy Forest on October 9, 2010.
