The Symphonia Chorale marks its 16th season as it resumes rehearsals this month under the direction of Louis Canter with Lynn Garland as accompanist.
The Chorale just returned from a trip to New York where some of its members had the great experience of singing under the baton of John Rutter at Carnegie Hall with 150 other voices in a performance of his 'Requiem.'
The Chorale is looking for additional members to audition, particularly sopranos, tenors and basses. All prospective voices will be considered. Rehearsals are held from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays at St. John Lutheran Church, 246 Benjamin St., Romeo.
Funded in part by the Four County Community Foundation and the Symphonia Chorale Endowment Fund, the non-profit organization seeks additional sponsors as well as it continues to provide excellence in music to Lapeer, St. Clair, Oakland and Macomb counties.
Our first full concert will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Bethel Church of the Nazarene on North Avenue in Macomb, with a repeat performance on Sun., Oct. 25 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church at 3 p.m.
