I want to thank all those who donated items or cash for the Army K-9 and their Handlers Packing Party held at the Imlay City Senior Center on August 27.
We had a tremendous amount of goodies for the K-9s this time, which they will be excited to receive. Items included new collars, leashes, brushes, toys, treats and also a cute little American Flag-looking dress which I'm sure one of the female K-9s will wear with pride.
The handlers were certainly not left out, they too will receive lots of goodies. Those boxes were packed to the max, and we had enough to fill 21 boxes.
I'd like to give a special thank you to Nancy W. from Clinton Twp. for her most generous help with the postage along with unknown others who also contributed; and to Pet Supplies Plus in Lapeer for their donation of new collars and leashes.
Thanks to everyone else who gave large or small, and to those that came and helped to pack the boxes—Ester, Wanda, Patsy, Gail, Nancy, Jim—I greatly appreciate your help (sorry if I left out anyone, it was a busy day!). Without all the help and donations we would not be able to continue to send these packages.
Those serving overseas really do appreciate receiving these 'Miracle Boxes' from Desert Angels, and so do our four-legged soldiers—our Army K-9s. To reach touching thank you notes from our soldiers visit the Desert Angels Web site at www.thedesertangel.org.
