The Ruth Hughes Memorial District Library would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped make the Summer Reading Program a huge success.
With the generous support of local businesses and volunteers, the Summer Reading Program continues to grow each year. This year the participants of the programs totaled 327 adults, teens and kids who read a total of 4,788 books.
The Friends of the Library purchased seven new DVDs and seven new video games for the library for every 300 books read. The Friends also treated the summer reading participants to an ice cream social.
A special thank you to: Annette Deppong, Emily Campbell, Diana Coomer, Diane Willick, Kathy Arnold, Stu Davis, Diane Martindale, Cheryl Sapp, Paula Jones and to the local businesses that donated prizes or craft items including Imlay City Speedway, Almont Speedway, Borland PTA, McDonald's and Art Skills Company. Thank you all for your generosity.
