Blueberry social boosts museum

To the Editor:

They came from near and far during the Blueberry Festival and visited Imlay City's local treasure—the historical museum. The guest registry included the names and addresses of more than 500 visitors from Kentucky, New Mexico, Tennessee, Florida, California, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington state, Iowa and several cities in Michigan.

Our thanks to the 60 volunteers who made this festival a success who worked as cashiers, runners, kitchen help, docents, etc. We especially appreciate the help of students Emily Jepsen, Elaina Wargo, Megan Bosma, Joe Rettell, Chaylynne Henderson, Carole Szymanski, Joel Jepsen and Tristen Brandt.

We thank Greg Dennis for sponsorship of the advertisement, the Big Boy Restaurant for securing the Achatz pies, and the Moores of Marlette for the great Blueberry waffle ice cream.

The pie and ice cream social is our major fundraiser and helps insure the continued operation of the museum. Our gratitude to each and every one of you who contributed in any way.
