Almost 40 years ago we met Pat Brozowski when she came to our house taking the federal census. This was her way of getting acquainted in a new neighborhood.
In the many years since that time, we have watched Pat as she worked tirelessly for the schools, for the church and for civic and charitable causes including several years as county commissioner.
She held the office of Emmett Township clerk for many years without questions and now, after being elected township supervisor, we are expected to find fault with her performance. We think not!
Pat has gone about her work honestly, cheerfully and always with the best interests of the people in mind. She does not deserve this treatment.
The charges we taxpayers are asked to believe and, of course, be duly outraged by, are almost laughable if the matter were not so serious. What credentials can her detractors claim and how much experience have they in the rough and tumble world of politics? None certainly to equal Pat's years of public service under the discerning eyes of the voters.
What if the recall is successful? The logical conclusion leads to at least two elections. Is that the way we want our tax dollars spent? Can't we think of better ways to use our township money?
Keep these thoughts in mind when you make your choices and hopefully, a dedicated public servant will not be sacrificed for a discontented few. Pat Brozowski should be retained as Emmett Township supervisor and this incident put behind us.
