Streber Classic lives on

To the Editor:

McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice has once again received a very special donation for Hospice at Brian's House through the 12th Annual Nancy A. Streber Memorial Golf Classic held on May 19 at Heather Hills Golf Course in Romeo. There were over 100 golfers involved and the event raised over $5,000.

In 1998, Dave Streber founded the Nancy Ann Streber Memorial Golf Classic in honor of his mother, who passed away suddenly on Mother's Day, May 11, 1997. Dave chose McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice to receive monies raised each year because of his family's experience with Hospice at Brian's House. In total, more than $50,000 has been raised and donated through this annual event. The Light House Point room #106 located in Brian's House is dedicated in loving memory of Nancy A. Streber.

Major sponsors for the event included Heather Hills Golf Course, Glo-Tone Cleaners of Centerline, Seagate Truck Repair and Melissa Hamilton. Brian's House is a licensed in patient hospice facility serving Lapeer and Genesee Counties and surrounding areas.
