I would like to thank the Brown City Fire Department, Brown City Police Officer, and the unknown witnesses/ bystanders that were on scene of the accident that occurred on May 6 near Brown City for all their heroic efforts in trying to save the severely injured driver of the motorcycle.
When Alpha 3 EMS arrived on scene we were directed to our patient who was laying in one of the deep county drain ditches. Several of the witnesses/bystanders had already gone down the embankment, rolled the driver of the motorcycle over from being face down in the water and had placed him up on the side of the embankment where he was still attempting to breathe on his own. There was another bystander 10-20 yards away putting out the fire that had started from the driver's motorcycle.
Although the final outcome was fatal, that same patient was able to receive lifesaving efforts by both the Alpha-3 EMS crew and Marlette Regional Hospital Emergency Room staff for nearly 90 minutes.
Without the actions of the witnesses/bystanders, Brown City Fire Department, and the Brown City Police Officer that patient would have been dead on scene. These are the unknown heroes living in our communities that rarely get acknowledged for their actions. I applaud you and publicly commend each one!
