Support FLC’s summer reading programs

To the Editor:

Help stop summer reading loss! Did you know that by middle school children can be two or more years behind in reading just by not reading during the summer? It's true, and you can do something about it!

Join Family Literacy Center this summer in helping a struggling reader learn to enjoy reading again! Summer tutoring for children who have completed 2nd-5th grades runs from July 13 to August 20. Many volunteers are needed to help these children. Choose from two separate trainings for this project offered in May or June. The 6 week summer tutoring project runs from July 13 to August 20. Choose from either morning and/or afternoon sessions. Spend four hours a week during this six-week program to change a life! To find out how you can help or to inquire about this or any other FLC program, contact Family Literacy Center at 810-664-2737 or email ican@readlapeer.org.

Visit Family Literacy Center on the web at www.readlapeer.org. Family Literacy Center and the Lapeer District Library are Partners for Literacy in Lapeer County.
