Ruth Hughes Library marks Library Week

To the Editor:

The Ruth Hughes Memorial District Library is celebrating National Library Week from April 13-18 with fun events for the whole family.

All week long the library will feature a drop box where patrons can tell us about their favorite book. After all of the nominations are collected, the library staff will compile all the suggestions into a handout so everyone can get ideas on new books to read.

On Monday, April 13, Miss Theresa will have a Family Story Time with a story and a craft. The program is free, but registration is required.

On Friday, April 17, teens ages 12-17 are invited to Be A Rock Star @ The Library. This lock-in program from 5-7 p.m. will feature Joel Tacey, and teens can play video games such as Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Dance, Dance Revolution. Food and drinks will be served and participants can even win raffle prizes. There is no fee to participate but registration and a permission slip are required.

On Saturday, April 18, it's Books for Kids Day. All day long any kid who checks out at least two books gets a free book to take home and keep!

If you have any questions please call the library at 724-8043.
