The Family Literacy Center wants to be known for giving away books to everyone we meet. It is an ambitious goal that was inspired by our adult students who tell us that books were hard to come by when they were growing up. Books should be found in every home! Many people and organizations share this belief. We recently received a large donation of new books from the Michigan Friends of Education. They sent us over 1,400 books to share with our families. We thank them for their generosity.
For nearly 30 years the Family Literacy Center has worked to help Lapeer County families reach important literacy goals. For information about Family Literacy Center programs call us at 810-664-2737 or visit our Web site at readlapeer.org.
