Rep. corrupted by power

To the Editor:

For the sake of a discussion I am going to pretend I am Congressmen Ty Ranny and I have the voting power to take 90% of anybody's income because I think anybody who makes $100,000 a year or has assets over $500,000 makes too much money.

Silly you say, well this is essentially what Congresswomen Candice Miller voted on March 19, 2009 - Vote 143: H R 1586: To Impose An Additional Tax on Bonuses Received From Certain Tarp Recipients.

This action taken by Congresswomen Miller is un-constitutional; the only other governments that I know of that take income or assets from their people are governments like Russia.

I am not an apologist for AIG. This letter is to raise a concern how our government within a "New York minute" can take one's earnings. This power should remind people of the Lord Acton quote "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely," and in November 2010 remember how our federal and state representatives voted.
