Imlay City Middle School students had the opportunity to share what they'd been studying in Ms. Barb Brohl's science classes with some of the kindergarteners at Weston Elementary.
The 7th-grade students partner-read with the kindergarten students in Mrs. Amanda Zuehlke's and Mrs. Kelly Roberts' classrooms in March. As a culminating activity for a unit on rocks and minerals, the middle school students individually created informational children's books on the rock cycle. The kindergarten students enjoyed having the chance to be read to by several 7th-graders, and the 7th-graders had the opportunity to share their knowledge, hard work and creativity. Ms. Brohl's students were also privileged to have the kindergarten students share their library books with them. This proved to be a wonderful learning experience for all of the students and teachers, and was just one of the numerous awesome activities that both schools participated in to celebrate March is Reading Month.
