Donations roll in for Blueberry auction

To the Editor:

Good news seems to be contagious, so allow me to share some. A few weeks ago, as the Blueberry Festival Auction Committee began to collect items for our annual auction on April 18, we were a bit nervous about our task, given the present state of the economy.

However, we are breathing a collective sigh of relief and appreciation as local business owners continue to participate in this important event in any way they can. This fundraiser goes a long way toward providing a fun-filled Blueberry Festival, July 31-Aug.1 this year, including fireworks, a terrific parade, many entertainers and of course lots of blueberries and other delicacies.

To anyone who would like to make a donation, large or small, one of the following dedicated volunteers will be contacting you soon, or you can leave a message at 614-1716, at the Chamber Office, 724-1361or the Learning Depot, 724-3234.

Among the committee members are Mary Martinez, LuAnn Valdez, Walt Bargen, Gwynn Hintz, Paty Halstead, Julie Salsido, John Johnson, Joi/Ian Kempf, Jennifer Ferrari, Lorraine, Dan, Missy and Danny Filer, Kim Jorgenson, Delores Heim, Sally Reinhardt, Joyce Nolin, Ray Champion, Ken Swanstrom, and Nancy Jean Brinker. Thanks to all.
