Donation Day delightful

To the Editor:

Donation Day for the Lapeer County Habitat for Humanity on March 21, was a great success! Our volunteers assisted individuals who brought in doors, windows, appliances, electronics, light fixtures, miscellaneous items and yes, even the kitchen sinks! Other families enjoyed the benefit of our pick-up service provided by growth and opportunity. Board Members of Habitat showed up to help move inventory to the site that had been in storage.

Special events included appearances by the Morales family (2009 Habitat Partner Family) along with the Escamilla Family (2006 Partner Family). DJ services were provided by Carl Hassler of C.J. D.J. and Karaoke.

Special thanks to our landlord Marlene Zajenkauskas of Lapeer Business Center, who graciously provided extra warehouse space. We'd like to thank all those who have donated cash, services, and a special Thank You to our countless volunteers who have helped the ReStore reach this point.

For those who missed Donation Day, your opportunities are just beginning. You can drop off your donations (cash, items, etc.) during our regular hours and schedule pick-up service if you need. Our present hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your donations are tax deductible and the profits will be going to help the Morales family and others enjoy quality affordable homes in Lapeer County!
