We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who donated to our Country Caring and Sharing Winter Coat and Clothing Drive.
We were able to collect over 125 coats and 30 large bags of winter clothing that helped not only the people in need in our local area but also 11 shelters and organizations throughout three different counties.
Our deepest gratitude to the following local businesses that supported our donation boxes and truly care for the people in our communities: Vinckier's Inc., Yale and Wadham stores; Capac and Almont Food Pride; Lapeer Family and Urgent Care-Dr. Zielinski's Office.
Emmett area: Trombley's Country Market; CSB Bank-Emmett Branch; Main Street Diner.
Special thanks to: Sue Smith and the VFW-Gleason, Butler, Sharpe Post 5585 who supplied a steady stream of winter items from October through January; Love 'n Stitches, an anonymous donor of so many beautiful, warm handmade knitted scarf and hat sets; Leslie Kowalski and MaryAnn Vermeesch who graciously gave of their time and energy to assist in collecting, sorting and delivering all the donated items.
With the uncertainty of our economy, one never knows when circumstances could change for each of us. Thank you to all for your generosity and support given to come to the aid of so many of our brothers, sisters and children in need in our community. You are truly examples of the angels among us.
