When I was in my internship after graduation from St. Clair Community College, I would stop in Doves Corner Market and get a newspaper and whatever other items I needed as I would go to my job/training. Now I am a regular customer. George and Lisa bought the store five years ago and reopened it after the previous owners closed it down.
The biggest things that I come into the store for are newspapers and Lisa's home cooking, like her homemade pies, breads (cinnamon and banana nut), cookies and her outstanding soups and chili. I also like George's quick wit!
Every time I come in the atmosphere is always friendly. According to George it's hard running a store but George and Lisa do an outstanding job at keeping it up and running. George and Lisa also get help running the store from their kids.
I would like to recognize George and Lisa for the hard work that they do every day, especially in the winter months. Here's to George and Lisa on their next five years of service to the public. Keep up the good work.
