Winter Clothing Drive will keep people warm

To the Editor:

With the economy in such a downward spiral there are many more people that are without proper clothing and heat this winter. We will be collecting clean, new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves and socks to donate to local shelters. From Jan 19 through Feb.1, Winter Clothing Drive boxes will be located at the following collection sites:

•Capac Food Pride, 3433 Capac Rd., Mussey

•Almont Food Center (formerly IGA), 888 N. Van Dyke, Almont

•Trombley's Country Market, 12015 Bryce Rd., Emmett

•Vinckier's Foods Inc., 115 S. Main St., Yale and their second location at 5275 Lapeer Rd., in Wadhams.

•CSB Bank-Emmett Branch

•Emmett's Main Street Diner, 3143 Main St. Emmett is currently taking donations in their restaurant.

Please take the time to go through your closets and donate so that others might feel the warmth of your generosity and help make a difference in the lives and health of children and adults in our communities.

If you are in need of a coat or winter clothing, you can go to the front door of the Emmett VFW Hall (Gleason, Bulter, Sharpe VFW Post 5585) on Wednesday Feb. 4th, from noon to 4 p.m. at 3128 Main St., Emmett or please call Kris Campau 810-395-2338 or Leslie Kowalski 810-384-1612
