I got a chance this morning to read the paper and saw the nice column Maria Brown wrote about locally grown food (TCT 12-10). We really appreciate people like Maria who try and educate shoppers to buy local.
Maria asked to mention if anybody was left off the list and I don't know if I can qualify yet for the big name list, but we are a family owned farm and started selling our pork and dairy products at local stores including our own "On The Farm Store" at our farm in Allenton.
We also carry Nelson's Maple Syrup from Imlay City, Crooked Creek's Milk from Romeo, Two Patriots Honey from Capac, and our own barbeque sauce made in Traverse City. We are not 'big' yet but with the help from friends and people like Maria and your readers we hope to be heading in the right direction.
Thank you again for your support.
