I read in a recent letter to the editor in your paper that I had voted to oppose the purchase of three AEDs for our community. That is correct as far as it goes.
What was not stated was my reason for so voting, which was my desire that four AEDs be purchased so that the fire department (two AEDs) and the police department (one AED) and the local pool (one AED) would be included.
The letter to the editor made it appear as though I was opposed to the entire concept of the purchase of AEDs. Nothing could be further from the truth. I just thought the city commission should purchase the complete package.
