Four County is big hit for I.C. Boys Baseball

Dear Editor,

Imlay City Boys Baseball would like to take this opportunity to thank the Four County Community Foundation for their support of our league.

In May 2008, Imlay City Boys Baseball was awarded a grant for $2,500 from the W. K. Kellogg Youth Fund. This fall, the grant was used to help offset material costs for the construction of two new dugouts on a field shared by two age divisions, ages 5-6 and 7-8.

Dugout materials were purchased locally and constructed with the help of many volunteers. It is our volunteers that make our baseball league successful, ensuring children learn the game of baseball in a safe and supportive environment and we are very grateful for their support.

Imlay City Boys Baseball is a community-based organization with a goal of providing a great baseball experience for children of all ages. We are very appreciative of the Four County Community Foundation's generous donation. Without financial assistance, it would not have been possible to complete this project. We would like to encourage other nonprofit organizations and groups to explore grant possibilities with the Four County Community Foundation.
