Soccer kids get a boost from community

Dear Editor,

I'd like to thank all those in the community that attended and supported the 2nd Annual American Youth Soccer Organization's Bowling Fundraiser at Almont's Hideaway Lanes for Region 1296. Even in these times of economic uncertainty so many came out to support our region in its efforts to maintain an affordable and fun sport for our community's youth.

It was a huge success due in part to the donations of prizes and/or volunteered time from Paul Abromaitis (and the facility use) at Hideaway Lanes, Klug's Barber Shop and Sunrise Marathon in Capac, Capac Public Library, Tony and Julie Aversa, Warren and Dorothy Boerner, Mike and Debbie Gibbons, Heather and Jim Hayes, Rick Leemhuis, Shawn and Jack Muter, Jerry Parisot, Maureen Parker, The Parzynski Family, Loralee Pillsbury, Donna Potyczka, Roger Schmidt, Mary Stack and Steve Charbeneau.

The board would especially like to thank all of our young players that attended with their families and friends.

Paula Parisot, Regional Commissioner, AYSO Region 1296, serving Capac and surrounding communities
