Almont Curves donates books to increase literacy

Dear Editor,

We are very thankful for our friends! The members of the Almont Curves recently donated 166 books for children to the Family Literacy Center.

Thanks to these enthusiastic club members, no child will go home without books to read. Parents and grandparents enjoy time with children over good books. The children can pick out a book to take home when they attend any Family Literacy Center program or visit our office in the Mott College building in Lapeer.

Since 1980, the Family Literacy Center has been training volunteers to help Lapeer County families reach important literacy goals. For more information about the Family Literacy Center, call us at 810-664-2737 or visit our website at www.readlapeer.org.
