Capac reaches its PEAK

Dear Editor,

The Capac PEAK (Prom-oting Enrichment Activities for Kids) club is off to a great start. On September 26 we hosted a Play-DohT workshop for 120 elementary students. The students were able to make their own 'Play-DohT' to take home.

Also, on October 5, the PEAK club held a "Fall Clean Up" at Capac Elementary School. Weeds were pulled, trash was picked up, gardens were freshened-up, mums and daffodil bulbs were planted and general fall gardening was done. Hot dogs and chips were enjoyed at the end of the day. A huge 'Thank You' to the families that participated: The Sams, Witts, Goddeerises, Schroeders, Halls, Niezurs, Jennexes, Morans, Schmidts, Lawsons, and Hayes. Also, a big thank you to Capac Hardware for donating the soil.

The PEAK club is still searching for instructors for computers, book club, chess and creative writing. We are also hoping to have many "Family Nights" this school year so we are also looking for people to chair these events.

The PEAK club has many classes/workshops planned for this year. Flyers will be distributed to the students at the elementary and also at the Capac Public Library to reach our home schooled children.
