I have been somewhat delinquent in thanking the Almont voters for their support in the Primary election held in August and I apologize for that oversight. I want to assure you that I look forward to the challenges that the trustee's position holds as we move forward in the future.
I have worked with Supervisor Gary Groesbeck on many occasions. With the support of the board there has been a lot of forward progress made for the community over the past five years. Those who have attended our board meetings must have noticed how fair and balanced Mr. Groesbeck is in dealing with the public. For those of you who have not had that experience, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a "meet and Greet" sponsored by supporters of Mr. Gary Groesbeck at the Almont Park this Sunday, Oct. 12 from 1-3 p.m. Take this opportunity to meet Gary and decide for yourself on the leadership of our township for the next four years.
On my behalf, I want to thank all who supported me in my efforts to continue as your trustee. Together we will continue to lead this township in the right direction. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Editor's note: Gary Groesbeck was defeated in the August primary by fellow Republican candidate Paul Bowman by a margin of 144 votes. Voters favored Bowman 487 to 343 for Groesbeck. Groesbeck says he will run as a write-in in the November 4 election.
