We donít need another four years of misery merchants

Dear Editor,

Shakespeare once wrote "most men live quiet lives of desperation." I would amend that to include women. Life has always been hard, and we sure didn't need the promoters of misery that the Republican party has turned into. Why else would they start a war whose price is so much greater than the gain? Misery merchants...

Did you pay your heat bill for last year? Too bad, that's what the rebate was for. Heating gas has gone up 11 percent over last year. This is the promised land of deregulation. Remember John Engler? The Godfather of Corporate gouging. The next target of total deregulation is electricity. It's too bad we all don't have shares in energy stocks.

Deregulation is simply giving up oversight and accountability for the good of the public and opens the door to the certainty of total monopolies. The big energy companies hate the prospect of justifying high prices. Why do you think they spend millions on Repugnant oops Republican think tanks like the Mackinaw group? They expect a return on all that expense.

Bush and Cheney could not have done the terrible things they have done without the base of a criminal organization to support them. That same gang is leading in all the polls; McCain, Candace Miller, and the local state rep. If you think this is the way to go then that should make you happy. There is always room for one more in hell.
