Dancing helps rejuvenate health and spirit


Dear Editor,

I so much enjoyed Catherine Minolli's article 'Imlay City's very own sweetheart' in the July 23, 2008 Lifestyles section. Ms. Maloney (dance instructor) is to be commended for keeping her get-up-and-go and proving that seniors do not have to lose their zest.

On the contrary, dance is wonderful exercise for all ages and is a great way to meet and develop new friends. I am sure that her performances at the nursing homes are greatly appreciated!

I always loved dance and took a big leap in 2003 at the age of 53 by signing up for dance classes. I study at Sandra Brewer's Dance Studio in Davison and have danced in several recitals. It helps to keep me fit, youthful and to cope with the challenges of my life. It is my hope that I will continue to dance for many years to come.
