Grandfather’s advice rings true in Lapeer County

Dear Editor,

My grandfather always told me, if something is working well, don't fix it. I am writing this letter to let everyone know that Lapeer County Treasurer Sally Eilersen works for Lapeer County.

I have been a member of county government for about eight years. In that time, I have seen Sally Eilersen personally visit over 1,600 properties; working with residents and senior citizens to keep them in their homes. Sally has consolidated county departments to provide better service while saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars. Sally invests public funds (your money) conservatively and responsibly and has worked hand-in-hand with administration increasing the county's investment earnings to a record level. That saves you and me tax dollars!

Sally Eilersen has been recognized by the Lapeer County Treasurer's Association as Treasurer of the Year, but you wouldn't hear that from her. Sally Eilersen is not a grandstander. You will rarely, if ever, hear her boasting of her accomplishments, which is why I felt compelled to write this letter.

On August 5, I urge you to vote for a proven leader; someone who, through good old fashioned hard work and personal integrity, has earned our vote. Vote to re-elect Sally Eilersen, Lapeer County Treasurer.
