The week of June 23-27 was the annual Green Thumb Neighborhood Girl Scout Day Camp. Between 60 and 70 girls and also a boys' unit participated.
The girls did crafts, hiking, outdoor cooking, archery, as did the boys' unit, and earned different badges that they needed.
On the last day, the entire camp took part in sports and a lunch of hot dogs, watermelon and other picnic foods. Afterwards, the girls who were spending the night tenting went into town to swim at the Alvin Norlin Pool in Imlay City and then back to camp for supper. A bonfire for a flag retiring ceremony was also held.
A good time was had by all and our thanks go out to all the leaders who helped make the Girl Scout Day Camp possible at its new location.
