Registered voters in Emmett Twp. who would like to vote by absentee ballot in ALL elections must notify the clerk, Pat Brozowski, that he or she would like to be put on the Permanent Absentee Voter List. Voters must still meet the reasons listed below for filing an absentee ballot.
If voters are in need of an absentee ballot only for a certain election, he or she would request an absentee application for that election only.
Following are reasons for voting an absentee ballot:
•Be 60 years of age or older.
•Expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the polls are open on election day.
•Be physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another.
•Cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of my religion.
•Have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where I reside.
•Cannot attend the polls because I am confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial.
Please contact me at 810-384-8070 or by writing a note asking for an absentee application for a ballot and please indicate if you want to be placed on the permanent absentee ballot list.
