In addition to drivers being aware of motorcyclists on the road as your editorial in last week's edition stated, they also need to be reminded that with the warmer weather more folks are out and about, especially along the dirt and gravel backroads. Walkers, runners, dog walkers, bike riders, bike riders with dogs and horseback riders. The speed limit may be 55 mph (why?) on these roads but a driver's ability to stop fast or manuever quickly is greatly reduced.
Speeding dangerously close to someone with or on an animal and spraying them with gravel is not only stupid but extremely dangerous. Being clipped by a mirror on the shoulder or catching a stirrup is pretty scarry. Be considerate of fellow users of the road.....Please!
