The 21st annual "For Women Only" Snowmobile Ride was held on Feb. 8-10, 2008 at the Ramada Inn in Grayling, MI. The annual snowmobile ride draws women from all over the Midwest for a weekend of fun, pampering, and relaxation all while raising funds to support Easter Seals-Michigan's therapeutic services for children and adults with disabilities. This year's riders also had the opportunity to meet five-year old Ryan Glant, Easter Seals 2008 child ambassador, and his family.
From the area were riders: Cindy Potter, Barb Jurn, and Mary Jo Cooley. A few others formerly from the area were: Kathryn Jurn and Tammy (Porter) Polzin.
This year the FWO riders raised over $150,000 for Easter Seals programs. Of the 160 attendees, only 40 were new riders. Most participants come once, and are dedicated to continuing each year with their participation. They feel a "loyalty" to this fundraiser. Michigan Snowmobile Association and Nelson's Speed Shop were the top sponsors of the event.
