One girl’s Christmas wish: disease-free world

Dear Editor,

If I had one wish for Christmas it would be to cure all of the diseases children and adults have all over the nation. I think that would be the best wish yet. The only reason I think that is because I know what it's like to have a family member that has a disease that may or may not be able to be cured.

My aunt Jamie (Duke) had cancer and all of our family members prayed to keep her alive. Every single night I would crawl to the end of my bed and pray for her. And our wish came true! I was so happy when I found out she was able to keep her heart pumping. I don't know what I would be able to do without her.

I have someone else I'm praying for right now. I'm praying for my aunt Jamie's friend Caroline. She has a different type of cancer than my aunt Jamie did. My aunt Jamie and her friends are keeping their hopes up for Caroline as much as I did for her.

In the future I hope there will be technology or a type of medicine that can cure every disease there is.
