Thank you for printing my offer of assistance to the Imlay City Band Boosters (guest column, TCT 11-21). I'm hoping that the boosters name in print and the story telling what a great job they are doing for the young folks will encourage others to become involved in this important cause.
I am far from an economist or statistician, but based on my gut feeling I think the economy is sure to worsen in Michigan. Should the Michigan economy continue to falter it will not fare well with small town schools such as Imlay City. I think the state will allocate whatever funds remain available to the most politically vocal school districts. Thus, I think the local folks had better find where their boot straps are and hang on to them. I think we're going to need them to pull ourselves up in order to continue to provide a top notch education for the children of Imlay City.
