United Way gives to IC center

Dear Editor,

The Hispanic Service Center is pleased to announce that it received a one-year grant of $10,000.30 for operational support from United Way of Lapeer County.

It is an honor to receive such significant support. The United Way has made tremendous contributions to our community and their generous help will allow us to accomplish our mission, which is to improve the lives of individuals of all ethnicities as well as to empower them to become productive citizens of our community.

The Hispanic Service Center provides the following services: Information and referral, financial assistance, client advocacy, legal referrals, outreach, ESL classes, minority senior citizens outreach, in-home respite, emergency food pantry and clothes closet, and translations of documents. The Hispanic Service Center also operates a temporary shelter and a transitional home in Imlay City for those who are homeless.
