December 15, 2010 IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team went 5-0 en route to a number one showing last Saturday at the Marlette Invitational.
Imlay City began their title-producing stint with a 51-6 win against Sandusky. That was followed with a 53-27 victory over Algonac; a 51-24 triumph against Marlette; and a 44-33 win over Cass City.
Those outcomes netted Imlay City a title match appearance where Capac provided their opposition.
That aforementioned battlle drew to a close with Imlay City registering a 49-27 triumph.
Sam Lyscas (145) headlined for Imlay City that day. Lyscas posted a 5-0 mark, good enough to lock up MVP accolades for the lower weight classes.
Jake Scillian (145) and Nick Nivison (160) gave Imlay City 5-0 records as well.
Imlay City also received 4-1 weight class showings courtesy of Garrett Toombs (112), Drew Pawlaczyk (130), Kyle Guerrero (135) and Nino Mosher (171).
With Saturday's results, Imlay City improves to 13-1 overall.
