Parks registers a career-high in Capac win

CAPAC — Nichole Parks hit for a career-high 16 points as Capac defeated visiting Lutheran North in a non-league varsity girls' basketball encounter on Tuesday, December 7.

With the outcome, Capac improves its mark to 2-1 overall.

In Tuesday's encounter, Capac grabbed an 8-5 edge after one quarter was complete.

Quarter number two saw Capac collect 15 points and Lutheran North net 11.

That made it 23-16, Capac, at the halftime break.

When play resumed, Capac continued to pull away.

Bolstered by an 11-4 third quarter advantage, Capac increased their lead to 34-20 at the 24-minute mark.

Capac then outscored Lutheran North 13-12 during the final eight minutes of action, putting the finishing touches on a 47-32 win.

Samantha Smith posted the second highest Capac point total that night, tossing in eight. The Chiefs also received points courtesy of AnnMarie Mailloux and Whitney Paddock (six each), Taylor Miller (five), Sarah Mousseau (three), Christina Williams (two) and Abby Aguinaga (one).

Katie Draiger paced Lutheran North with seven points. She connected on a three-pointer en route.
